The centerfire single-shot rifle has an extensive history among hunters looking for a dependable and accurate game-getter without spending more than necessary for good quality and basic functionality. Henry Repeating Arms is proud to offer this premium line of break-action one-shooters.

Available with a matte blued finish on steel frames and a highly polished finish on hardened brass frames, these elegantly simple rifles feature 22” round barrels and a fully adjustable folding leaf rear sight paired with a brass bead front sight. For those who prefer magnified optics, the rifles are drilled and tapped to mount a base. Despite its simplicity, the Henry Single Shot Rifle does not cut corners with the quality of the materials, so the furniture is genuine American walnut. The steel version sports a curved pistol grip wrist and solid rubber recoil pad, and the brass version has a straight English wrist and brass buttplate. Instead of flinging spent brass all over the place, these rifles feature a non-ejecting extractor, making it easier to get in and out of the field without leaving a trace. Covering everything from coyotes to moose, the Henry Single Shot Rifle is available in a wide range of calibers from .223 all the way up to .45-70.

These rifles use a familiar locking lever on top of the frame, behind the external hammer spur, to break the barrel open. We’ve added our touch here, though- the lever can be pivoted either left or right from its center position to unlock, which works well for both left and righties. The action has no external manual safety; it uses a rebounding hammer that can’t touch the firing pin unless the trigger is deliberately pulled and an interlock system that doesn’t allow the barrel to open if the hammer’s cocked or the barrel to close if the hammer’s cocked while it’s open. Quick to load or unload, safe to carry, and simple to operate. That’s what it’s all about.

For those who prefer the sport and challenge of hunting with only one round on board, our no-frills approach to a premium single-shot rifle is the perfect choice. While some might consider something with a 1-round capacity an entry-level proposition, these rifles are built to the same high standards as all of our fine centerfire repeating rifles.

Born to hunt, we expect you to work this gun, and work it hard. Henry Repeating Arms also offers a Single Shot Youth Model Rifle.
